Our Mission:

Founded in 2007, S.P.I.R.I.T. is an ever-growing team of dedicated paranormal researchers operating in and around the St. Louis, Missouri area. The team was put together as a collection of individuals who were not satisfied with modern science's answers (or lack thereof) about people's paranormal experiences. We follow a scientific approach to our investigations, utilizing some of the latest techniques in digital imaging and audio analysis.

We are ready to call a conclusion to our McPike investigation. Unfortunately, after double checking all the data, we were unable to find any conclusive evidence. We had some interesting personal experiences, but there was nothing else there to back that up. McPike has had such a long history of reports of paranormal activity that we are in no way claiming the site isn't haunted, but we were unable to capture any of it for ourselves that night.

Last night we returned to Alton for another investigation. This time we went to one of the most haunted places in Alton - the McPike Mansion.

Many people had personal experiences and initial indications look like some good evidence was captured as well.

The investigation page has been posted with the case report and an examination of all of the photography. Audio and video will be reviewed shortly and posted as soon as we have results.

We have officially signed on to investigate the Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton the evening of September 13th. This will be an investigation on a scale we have not yet had. The location is massive with numerous areas of activity. It promises to be a great night.

I've updated the equipment page with some recent acquisitions. We have added to our camera, video camera, audio recording, and temperature sensing equipment. This is important for us because we now have enough equipment to have four separate investigative teams that all have EMF, digital photography, temperature measurement, and audio recording devices with each group. This is what allows us to tackle such huge places like Mineral Springs and give the location the coverage it deserves.

Before Mineral Springs is still our investigation of another of Alton's most haunted sites: the McPike Mansion. That investigation is still scheduled for August 8th, which is right around the corner.

This week marks the one year anniversary of SPIRIT. Its hard to imagine its been a full year and how far we've come since that first trip out to Zombie Road. One year is a big milestone for us and hopefully we will be around to celebrate many more.

In investigation news, more evidence has been posted from our most recent Lemp investigation. Some interesting things have been captured on audio and we're trying to do some debunking with our equipment of some of the things we've captured.

Also, a review of the Harney Mansion video footage was able to debunk the phantom footsteps that we heard. It turns out that there was in fact a person moving around at that time.

Additionally, we will be investigating another one of Alton's most haunted places, the McPike Mansion, on August 8th. We are also working with the owners of the Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton to set up an investigation there as well.

We took another trip to the Lemp Mansion this past Sunday night. Unfortunately, we were not as lucky to experience as much activity as we had on our previous trip. Very few personal experiences were had and at first glance, the evidence seems to be unfortunately light. However, we will thouroughly examine everything and post our results. For a case where not a lot seemed to happen during the investigation, the evidence is certainly starting to pile up. Several photographs captured what appears to be a black shadow mass hovering above us peeking down through an opening in the floor. Also, in one of the most chilling EVPs we've ever collected, we captured a woman's scream from out of nowhere. There is still a little more evidence we have to sift through, but so far what we've caught has been extremely impressive. The new evidence is posted on the page as well.

Also, I've updated the EVP and photos galleries with some of the great captures we've gotten recently.

This past Saturday night we conducted one of our largest investigations at the Harney Mansion in Sullivan MO. We are still going through a lot of the evidence, but you can read the investigation report as well as check out some of our early findings on the investigation page here.

All of the audio and still photography from the Oddfellows Cemetery investigation is complete. The audio from this investigation gave us one of the wildest EVPs that we have ever collected, which we were incredibly excited about. All of the results are posted on the investigation page.
