Our Mission:

Founded in 2007, S.P.I.R.I.T. is an ever-growing team of dedicated paranormal researchers operating in and around the St. Louis, Missouri area. The team was put together as a collection of individuals who were not satisfied with modern science's answers (or lack thereof) about people's paranormal experiences. We follow a scientific approach to our investigations, utilizing some of the latest techniques in digital imaging and audio analysis.

A New Investigation And A Close To The Previous One

Last night we investigated the former mansion of St. Louis gangster Jellyroll Hogan. There had been a lot of activity reported by the current owner and he contacted us to see if we could come in a make some sense out of what was going on. We are the first paranormal investigation group to examine this site, and it certainly seems like something is going on there. There were definitely some interesting experiences that happened that night, check out the investigation page for more information.

Also, we are officially closing our previous investigation - the second Mineral Springs Hotel trip. We had some evidence that took a while to get through, but everything has been covered and we can now call it quits for this investigation.

Status Update

We haven't done a whole lot of investigating recently, mostly due to people having a lot of time commitments during the holiday season, but we are gearing up to start a new year strong. We have officially applied for TAPS family member status, but they describe it as a lengthy approval process, so check back in a few months to see if anything has ever come of it.

More importantly, we are returning to the site of one of our most productive investigations - the Mineral Springs Hotel. We will be visiting that site on January 24th and look forward to trying to replicate the last investigation's results.

We've added some new gear from the holidays as well. A second KII meter, new audio recorders, more thermal devices, more infrared lighting and other camera lighting are all new additions. We look forward to putting all of our equipment to good use on upcoming investigations.

Keep an eye out here for new announcements as well. We are engaged in arranging investigations at other St. Louis locations - some of which are very big and exciting - and we will update next time we have new news.

Leadwood Investigation Conclusions

We have concluded our evidence analysis from our investigation of the private residence in Leadwood. We were able to come up with a couple of EVPs that left us with our heads scratching a little bit. We had no overwhelming evidence on this investigation, but there were enough points of interest to make us consider revisiting this location in the future.

New Investigation Posted

Well, its taken a little while to get the information uploaded to the website, but we did investigate a private residence in Leadwood, Missouri on 11/22. The homeowners had lots of great claims and were genuinely curious as to what was going on in their house. The investigation was, for the most part, quiet - but we have come across a couple of interesting pieces of evidence. Initial findings are posted on the investigation page and we will post more as we come across them.

Cheney Mansion Investigation Conclusion:

We have finally finsished reviewing all the evidence from our Cheney Mansion investigation. The results were pretty positive. We got a couple of photos that were interesting and some great audio pieces as well. All in all we had a great time investigating that fantastic location and look forward to being able to make a return visit in the future.

Also, a new t-shirt design has been added to our gallery. You can see it in the Zazzle flash panel above, or visit our store at Zazzle by clicking here.

Cheney Mansion Investigation

We are now a couple of days removed from our most recent investigation at the Cheney Mansion in Jerseyville Illinois. The people from the Jerseyville Historic Society were wonderful hosts and we truly enjoyed our time there. As usual, evidence analysis is ongoing, and we are posting results as we find them. We recorded over twelve hours of audio and video and hundreds of still photographs. To check in on the investigation page, you can follow the link here.

Web Site Updates:

I have revamped the equipment section of the website due to our ever expanding inventory of investigative gear. Everything that was previously on a single page has now been broken down by category and each category has its own page.

We've also added to the list some of our newer equipment like out new KII meter and our new Sony TRV70 camcorder.

Mineral Springs Investigation - Results

We have finally completed our evidence review of our investigation at Mineral Springs Hotel in Alton. We managed to come up with several solid EVPs and one notable image. All in all, it was a great investigation and somewhere we would love to investigate again.

Also, we have lined up our next investigation as well. We will be traveling to Jerseyville Illinois to investigate the Cheney Mansion there. This is a beautiful old building with lots of history and it has been featured in the book Spirits of St. Louis II. Our investigation there will take place on October 11th.
