Thomas Anderson Cemetery (Cemetery X) - 11/5/07

Location: Thomas Anderson Cemetery - also commonly referred to as "Cemetery X". This cemetery is located in rural Christian County, Illinois near the town of Taylorville. This cemetery is considered to be one of the most haunted in central Illinois, if not the entire midwest region. There have been dozens of reports of activity in this old, run down area. Reports have ranged from strange feelings, apparitions and photographic anomalies all the way to a path through the trees that only opens at night and that the cemetery is protected by a spectral wolf.

Many people hold the theory that this location has so much activity because it is considered a "portal haunting". In other words, the area where this cemetery is might house a doorway allowing beings to cross over from one plane to the next.

The location and specifics to this cemetery are a pretty closely guarded secret. The cemetery has fallen in to a state of disrepair and is prone to vandalism and therefore is not as welcoming any longer to outside visitors. Many people who know the location of the cemetery have requested that it remain secret to discourage any more attendants. However, diligent research and investigation by one of our investigators revealed the location and he took a trip there to see it for himself.

Equipment Used: Pentax K100D DSLR with a Pentax AF-360FZ flash, Olympus DS-30 digital audio recorder, Extech 480823 EMF detector

Personal Experiences: None noted.

Results and Analysis: Photographic analysis did not reveal anything out of the ordinary. EMF was unable to pick up any significant fluctuations. Audio was negative as well. The following are just some general images of the area:
