Location: Note: We are keeping the name of the home and details of the inhabitants confidential to protect the property from any further trespassing. We thank the caretaker of the property for letting us in to investigate.

This site is a historic 27 room mansion in Eureka, Missouri. It has not had any inhabitants in it in nearly 15 years. The home is supposedly haunted by the spirit of a former inhabitant who was thrown from her horse and subsequently killed in the front yard.

Equipment Used: Canon 10D DSLR with a Canon 580EX II Speedlite, Casio EX-Z75 digital camera, Olympus VN-4100PC digital audio recorder with Azden ECZ-990 Super Cartoid microphone, Cellsensor EMF detector, Sony SR300 camcorder.

Personal Experiences: Various noises and sounds were reported. Several people reported tapping noises from one of the main rooms of the house. During an EVP session, an investigator asked about the stained glass windows in the house and a tapping sound was heard from the direction of one of the overhead stained glass windows. A sound that resembled a drawn out breath or a moan was heard twice by multiple investigators while walking through the front yard.

Additionally an experiement was performed where all doors to the upstairs bedrooms were closed (they were previously all open) and any present spirits were invited to open the doors after we left the house. No doors were disturbed upon our return. We returned to the site a week later and still found the doors undisturbed.

Results and Analysis: Still photo analysis revealed two photos which showed anomalies. Audio captured one possible EVP and video analysis revealed two possible anomalies.

Photographic Anomaly One:

This image shows the front door of the estate from the outside. Of note is the orb that is near the top of the left column. There was nothing present at the time to easily explain this particular object. Review of corresponding video footage showed that there were no lights directly pointed at this section of the house while the photo was being taken.

This is the enhanced version of the anomaly. It is interesting to note that the object appears to be behind the corner of the column yet still in front of the shadow being reflected by the column onto the front of the house.

Photographic Anomaly Two:

This photo was taken inside one of the main rooms where the majority of the activity was reported to take place. There are two orbs in the left center area of the image. These are anomalies that did not appear in any of the other photographs taken during this investigation. They also did not appear in a photograph of the same side of the room shot two seconds earlier (times taken from the EXIF data preserved in the photos).

This is a cropped and enhanced view of the orbs in question. They appear to almost be glowing as well as have some left to right movement.

This is the photo taken two seconds prior to the photo that contains the anomalies. It was taken from a slightly different perspective but shows the same view of the room. This photo clearly shows nothing in the air that would cause the previous orb photos.

Audio Anomaly:

This audio clip was recorded while investigating the basement of the house. This was during an actual EVP session. The beginning of the clip has a couple of small noises followed by what sounds like a muffled voice. This is followed by an investigator stating "I'm starting to think there's nobody here."

Video Anomaly One:

Review of the video footage revealed two interesting clips. In this footage, the camcorder was set-up to record pointing down the main hallway of the home. Two investigators were in the main room at the time. They were the only two persons in the house at that moment. This clip appears to show a black object, approximately 3 feet off the ground move very quicky across the hallway. Look all the way to the back of the hallway to see the object come from behind the open door and disapear behind the wall across the hall. This clip has been slowed down to a quarter of its original speed. Because of the speed adjustment, an investigator talking at the end of the clip sounds like a moan.

Upon further review of this footage, it has been suggested that we captured a bat in flight. This seems entirely consistent with what we can see in the video. A bat had been noticed in the basement of the home while investigating earlier. However, no bats were observed on the main level of the house during the course of the evening. The hallway where this object is seen moving, has closed off rooms at either end and did not appear to have any access to either outdoors or the downstairs area.

The object was only on the screen for approximately 3 frames. Here are a couple of screen captures that attempt to show the object:

The shot on the left is the object as it first appears and the shot on the right is as it is just about to disapear. These have both been sharpened and enhanced.

Video Anomaly Two:

This is a second clip from the same time the camera was stationary. This clip is a little more questionable to wether it was just dust or not. What is interesting to note about it is that the object in question appears from the middle of the screen without coming from the edges of the frame anywhere. It then dissapears towards the bottom center of the frame.
