Preliminary Investigation -

St. Stanislaus Ruins

Location: In north St. Louis county, off of Aubachon Road. These ruins were once used as a retreat from the nearby St. Stanislaus Missionary. The building was abandoned in 1905 and is simply ruins now.

Equipment Used: Casio EX-P600 Digital Camera, Cellsensor EMF detector.

Personal Experiences: None noted.

Results and Analysis: Two photographs taken showed unusual elements.

We had originally just gone out to this site to scout the area and find out where the ruins lie in this conservation area. The photos taken were predominately for scouting purposes. No real investigation was taking place at the time. Surprisingly, we were able to capture a couple of anomalies in photos that are not easily explained.

Anomaly One:

This image was shot facing up the stairs into the largest building. Notice in the right center area what appears to be a streak of light. There were no reflective surfaces present, no flash was used on the camera, and there was not enough direct light from overhead to cause any sort of lens flare effect.

This is an enlarged and enhanced version of the above anomaly. It is interesting to note the blue hue of whatever this may be. It is also interesting that whatever this is appears to be moving from left to right.

Update from the 9/8/2007 investigation: We may have been able to debunk the above photo. Upon returning to the site, a beer can was noted in the same general area as the recorded anomaly. It had the appearance that it had been in the area for quite some time and was not a new addition to the location. The following is a photo taken from approximately the same location as the previous photo.

I think it is still worth noting that in this image, a very powerful flash was used with no reflection cast back from the can. In the original photo, no flash was used, the sun was blocked from full intensity by the foliage, and it was a somewhat overcast day, and yet, if it is a can, a very strong reflection is present.

Anomaly Two:

This photo is of another building set slightly off from the main buildings. The blue hued object makes another appearance in this photo on the right side near the edge of the image.

This is an enlarged and enhanced version of the above anomaly. It has been suggested that this image may be a reflection off of a spiderweb at the scene which is entirely possible for this image because the flash did fire for this particular photo. A spiderweb would fit the somewhat linear nature of this anomaly as well.

Additional Images:

The following are additional images captured of the location.
